On 12th August 2026, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC), with support from the World Food Programme (WFP) and technical facilitation by the Industrial Services Bureau (ISB), conducted the Initial National Stakeholder Consultation Workshop for the After-Action Review (AAR) of Sri Lanka’s response to Cyclone Ditwah. The workshop brought together representatives from Government institutions, UN agencies, I/NGOs, civil society organizations, private sector entities, and community groups to ensure a comprehensive assessment of the Cyclone Ditwa response, identifying key achievements and challenges, lessons learned and priority areas for review to inform actionable recommendations for strengthening future disaster preparedness and response. This marks the first step in a robust, evidence-based, and action-oriented After Action Review process.
