The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce - Vishva Gnana Kendraya (CCC-VGK) has started its operation from 23rd February 2004 at the Industrial Services Bureau(ISB).
VGK is an initiative of the Information and Computer Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) in association with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC). CCC has entered into a partnership with the Industrial Services Bureau, Kurunegala to set up and commence VGK operations in the area. The CCC-VGK will be a fully fledged IT related business support center in Kurunegala through which all services related to information technology will be provided.
The launch of the CCC-VGK centre was a hallmark event in the history of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce; the oldest Chamber is Sri Lanka with 164 years of service to the local business community. The VGK centre will be the point of contact and will provide services for all Chamber initiated e-projects such as the Business Information Services project which is a state of the art business portal, the Jobs net project which is matchmaking process for job seekers and job providers and the World Bank funded Lanka Development Gateway Project which will be Sri Lanka’s business gateway for global business.
The CCC-VGK is aspiring to provide the regional communities, businesses and students with the opportunity of reaching out to the world of information. The services extended by this centre included guided Internet surfing facilities, business advisories, business counseling, email and courier service. The CCC-VGK centre also intends organizing and conducting various training programmers in the future.
