Community Led Environmental Awareness Network (CLEAN) Project This is functioning in four major cities in Sri Lanka namely; Colombo, Kandy, Kurunegala & Nuwara-Eliya. The water & air quality in these cities are measured in once in two weeks. The main purpose of this project is to keep the city clean and make aware the general public of this process. Stockhom Junior Water Price (SJWP)
The Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) is an annual event organized by Stockholm Water Foundation (SWF) that supports research and development of the world’s water resources and promotes efforts to improve water conservation throughout the world. The objectives of SJWP are to promote water and related other environmental activities in the country, to create an enthusiasm among the school children about water and water related research activities, to promote affordable and feasible technologies to protect environment for enhancement of the living standards of people. ISB Environmental Services (ISB ES) has been awarded the status of National Organizer by Stockholm International Water Institute, SIWI, Stockholm, Sweden to conduct the national competition in Sri Lanka and to select the winners and to make arrangements for their participation at the SJWP to be held at Stockholm in every August. The winners were facilitated to participate at the SJWP held in Sweden. The Jury of the international competition awarded the second place to the Sri Lankan project among 30 contestants. In addition to the project’s merit, Sri Lanka’s recognition comes in its first year of participating in this prestigious competition under the novel and innovative approach of ISB ES as the National Organizer of SJWP project in Sri Lanka. Boiler Water Treatment Services
Under this programme, a service package is offered for boiler efficiency maintenance and industrial water treatment. ISB enters into annual contracts with clients and takes the responsibility of maintaining their boilers at the highest efficiency level possible and water at the required quality. Industrialists have appreciated this service very much. In addition to the above service, ISB undertakes the measurements and monitoring of boiler performance. ISB also undertakes designing, fabrication, installation and commissioning of certain equipment (e.g. industrial water softeners) for boiler water treatment. Laboratory & Quality Control Unit ISB laboratory provides the services of drinking water ‘full parameter’ test, water quality ‘specified parameter’ test, water quality testing for aqua culture practices, effluent treatment, and water quality testing for agriculture purposes. Food and hotel industry, garment industry are much benefited by ISB laboratory services. Air Quality Monitoring & Advisory Service
ISB ES is engaged in monitoring of air quality and providing advisory and implementation services for the mitigation of the ill effects of polluted air arising from human activities, industrial and vehicular operations. The service package includes the monitoring of Ambient Air Quality, Industrial Emissions & Noise Level. Following parameters are measured under each category; |
