Industrial Services Bureau (ISB) was established as a Statutory Body under the North Western (Wayamba) Provincial Council in mid 1990 with the sponsorship of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) of Germany with the objective of accelerating the industrial development of the Province.
Subsequently, ISB diversified its activities and now functionally as an autonomous industrial and business services delivery institution, based in Kurunegala, operating island wide and internationally.
ISB now provides industrial services, energy & environmental management services, business development services, construction services, technical services, information technology services and agriculture services under four divisions of ISB Viz.
- Technical Services and Information Technology Division
- Investment Promotion, Enterprise Development and Marketing
- Project Management and Consultancy
- Training
ISB is now widely recognized as one of the most reliable and dependable industrial and business development service providers of the island.
The multi-disciplinary nature of activities have been facilitated by the multi-disciplinary nature of qualifications and competencies acquired and developed by full time consultancy staff, consisting of professionals from the fields of Business management, Development Economics, Marketing ,Engineering and Agriculture. The truly indigenous framework and the proactive attitude development by the consultants of the Industrial Services Bureau, has enabled it to cross the boarders of the Wayamba and provide its services to all parts of the island and in overseas as well. Industrial Services Bureau has been able to cultivate an institutional network through the effective work it performs. Most of the development and donor agencies have already liked with ISB and reaching their goals.
