Industrial Services Bureau (ISB) was established in mid 1990 under the Provincial Council of North Western (Wayamba) Province with the financial assistance of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) of Germany as a Semi Governmental Organization – not for profit.  Mandate of ISB is the provision of industrial & business development services which include advisory, consultancy & implementation services.

Subsequently, ISB diversified its activities and now functionally an autonomous industrial and business services delivery institution, based in Kurunegala, operating island wide and internationally as well.
                                                                                                                           
ISB now provides industrial services, agriculture services, business promotion services, construction services, technical services, information technology (IT) services and environmental management services along with its affiliated organizations; ISB Services Ltd. (ISB SL) – a limited liability public company and ISB Environmental Services (ISB ES) and ISB Technical Services Ltd.

ISB Services Ltd (ISB SL) is an affiliated organization of ISB and it is a public limited liability company – for profit.  All the commercially oriented activities of ISB are handled by ISB SL.

ISB Environmental Services (ISB ES) (formerly WINGS) is an affiliated organization of ISB and it is a Non Governmental Organization – not for profit.  All activities related to environmental and social development are handled by ISB ES.

ISB Technical Services Ltd. (ISB TS) is an affiliated organization of ISB – for profit.  All the technical activities of ISB are handled by ISB TS.
